Privacy Policy
This policy describes how the gomando mobile application (“gomando”, “we”, “us”) treats information when you use our iOS app. By using gomando, you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
gomando is provided by the developer / entity identified on the App Store listing for the app. For privacy questions, contact us using the address on our Support page.
2. Summary
- gomando is designed to discover and control TVs on your local network (e.g. same Wi‑Fi). Much of this happens on your device and between your phone and your TV, not on our servers.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Subscriptions are processed by Apple via In-App Purchase; we do not receive your full payment card details.
3. Local network & device discovery
To find TVs and communicate with them, gomando uses iOS local network capabilities you approve in system settings or permission dialogs. This may involve:
- Scanning address ranges and ports typical for TV remote protocols on your LAN;
- Exchanging messages with devices you choose to pair or control.
That traffic generally does not need to pass through our infrastructure. We do not intentionally collect a list of all devices on your network on our servers unless we explicitly describe a feature that does so in a future update (in which case we will update this policy).
4. Data stored on your device
gomando may store information locally on your iPhone, for example:
- Paired TV identifiers or connection details needed to reconnect;
- In-app preferences.
This data remains under your control and is removed if you delete the app (subject to iOS backup behaviour).
5. Purchases & subscriptions
If you buy a subscription or other in-app item, Apple processes payment. Apple may provide us limited information (such as subscription status and transaction identifiers) so we can unlock features. See Apple’s Privacy Policy for how Apple handles App Store data.
6. Analytics & crash reporting
Unless we state otherwise in an updated version of this policy or in-app notice, we aim to minimise remote analytics. If we enable optional analytics or crash reporting (e.g. via Apple or a third-party SDK), we will describe what is collected and offer controls where required by Apple or applicable law.
7. Third-party services & TVs
Your TV and its manufacturer may have their own terms and privacy practices for device software, cloud accounts, and firmware updates. gomando does not control those services.
8. Children
gomando is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. International users
If you use gomando outside the country where the developer is based, your information may be processed in other countries where we or our service providers operate, subject to applicable law.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us via Support. You can also use iOS settings to manage app permissions and subscriptions.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new date at the top and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app or on this site.
12. Contact
See Support & contact for how to reach us.
